TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF

How often do you neglect doing the things you need to do in order to be healthy? Like most of us, it’s easy to think that nothing is ever going to catch up. We’re too busy to cook a decent meal so we grab something high in salt and fat content because it tastes better anyway. Fried chicken is my all time favorite food. Unless it’s organic chicken and it’s baked or broiled, it would better to limit my consumption.

How about taking vitamins and drinking at least 8 glasses of water every day? Don’t do that either? Your body is just like anything you need to attend to….like the oil in your car. If you don’t feed your body the vitamins and trace minerals that help it run right, and you don’t chug down enough water to grease all the inner workings, the day of reckoning will come. If you live out on a farm and eat organic fruit and vegetables, you’re probably fine. But most of us don’t and we don’t make up for our lousy diets with supplements.

There will come a time in your life when you will look back in regret unless you start taking care of yourself now. Time must be made to do what’s needed to be the best you possible for yourself.  Then you can also be the best possible you for your loved ones and everyone else.

Start small. Drink more water. You’ll be helping your body keep you juicy and hydrated so all the inner workings can do their jobs. When Ponce de Leon was looking for the Fountain of Youth, he had no idea that water was just that magic ingredient. Half the ailments of our older age are helped by drinking more water. This includes headaches, joint pain and many more conditions we think we’re stuck with just because we get older. Did you know you can live 7 days without food but only 3 days without water? Tell me that isn’t what the Fountain of Youth is all about.

Love yourself enough to take care of yourself. Love yourself enough to stay healthy and live longer for those who depend on you and want you around forever. You are worthy.
