IT’S A NEW WORLD ~ STAY JUICY!

Surrender to the idea that every moment of your life has been exactly perfectly orchestrated for your highest good, then hang on for a wonderful, magical ride.~ Lorraine Castro

So, do you believe that? Very likely not. Not that I blame you. It’s taken me at least 25 years of serious study to get to that point, but now I know it’s true! Life is a very interesting adventure and most of us are ill prepared for what awaits us. Mostly that’s due to the fact that nobody tells us how it really works. We’re brought up to think we must forge ahead and strive to accomplish and acquire as proof of our superior abilities. At the end of the line, those with the most toys are judged most successful. Some folks pull this off but it isn’t really the reason we’re here.

The first thing I wished I’d known lots sooner was that life isn’t fair. It was never set up to be. The actual true purpose of life is to grow as human beings. No one ever told me that. And if they had, I still wouldn’t have known how to go about fulfilling that mission. Life isn’t fair because if it were, everyone would have enough to eat, clean sanitary water supplies and economies that supported all members of society. There wouldn’t be have’s and have-nots. So obviously economic affluence wasn’t the main goal of life.

But now I have a better idea about life. I know that each of us has a responsibility to be of service to each other and that we can only grow ourselves if we consider the fact that everything we do has a consequence. Do you remember hearing the story of the 100th Monkey? Short overview if not: Studies have shown that monkeys on an isolated island began a new habit that was more adaptive, such as washing dirt off a fallen sweet potato before eating it, something not seen before in their behavior patterns. All of a sudden, monkeys on islands thousands of miles away started exhibiting the same behavior. Why is that?

Obviously there is a monkey collective unconscious that connects the thoughts of all monkeys, despite distance, and allows the collective to gain from new discoveries.  Just like monkeys, human have a collective unconscious. Carl Jung linked the collective unconscious to what Freud called “archaic remnants”, or mental forms whose presence cannot be explained by anything in the individual’s own life and which seem to be aboriginal, innate, and inherited shapes of the human mind. Just like the monkeys, we are governed by this phenomenon and we gain from all of human kind’s efforts.

If more of us are hateful and selfish, thinking in terms of competition and warring against others, the collective unconscious is not going to evolve. What happens when more and more people begin to recognize that we live in a global world where all are affected by each others actions and thoughts? More people begin to understand they must take responsibility for those thoughts and actions, realizing their consequences. Because ultimately, if you hate anyone, that hate will come back to you in some form. If you want peace, prosperity and happiness for your loved ones, you have to wish that for everyone. Otherwise, it will never happen.

Luckily, we are in a new age of expanded consciousness and I believe we’ve reached the tipping point, just like the 100th monkey. There are more of us who understand the inviolate law of cause and effect. There are more people who want to see the world at peace and are willing to take personal responsibility for doing their part. It doesn’t take much. Stopping the racist, reductive and negative thoughts that run in everyone’s minds is a good start. Challenge yourself to think more generously, to help others, to imagine that everyone wants the same things you do and has the same fears.

We can all evolve faster if we try. This is a unique time in history. As Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google said, “We create as much information in two days now as we did from the dawn of man through 2003”. Pretty impressive. It’s a new dawn and a new day and a new world. Everything is happening faster and consequences are coming to bear sooner than ever before. Let’s make good decisions and think about our fellow mankind, all of them, when we do.

Loosen up your grip on the “rules”. Stop thinking inside and outside the “BOX”. Why have a box at all? Suspend your tight hold on the way things should be and find ways to help them be better. God has infinitely more ideas about what is best for us than we possibly can imagine. Trust that your life, with all its hardships and challenges has been perfect.  Thank your stars for the incredible gift of life.  Start having mad gratitude for air to breathe, water to drink and food to eat. Shelter is a nice benefit too. All the rest is just icing. Wake up and thank God for the gift of another day and spend that day in gratitude for everything.

  1. So true, gratitude is a powerful force that allows you to see what really matters versus what is needed or wrong. Thank you for sharing and reminding us of the power that lies within and the gifts God has given us.
